The officers of the North Texas Booksellers' Association would like all booksellers to be on the look out for several stolen books. They received notice from the Comanche Public Library that several books from one of their locked collections were recently stolen. Nine books in total were stolen, one of which is a personal copy of the librarian. The books come from their John Wesley Hardin collection. Eight of the books have "Property of the Comanche Public Library" stamped in various places on them. The ninth book, which is the librarian's book, is Hardin's autobiography. It is a first edition, in near perfect condition with no library markings on it. The library is offering a reward for the return of these books. The Comanche Public Library is located in Comanche, Texas which is about 144 miles southwest of Dallas, Texas. All book sellers should be on the look out for these books.

If you happen upon them, please contact Margaret Waring at the Comanche Library. Her contact details are as follows:
PO Box 777
Comanche, TX 76442
