BookThink Privacy Policy and Disclaimer

On a scale of 1 to 10, BookThink ranks your privacy a 10 - that is, we are committed to doing whatever we can to protect it. The following policy statement details the type of information that is gathered about our users and what, if any, purpose it is used for.

Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a domain name and a set of numbers that serve as that computer's "Internet Protocol" or IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you. We use this information to examine our traffic in aggregate and, should the need arise, also reserve the right to share it with legal investigators or other parties as required by law.

BookThink offers several services that require registration - for example, newsletter subscriptions and forums. With the already noted exception of assuming our legal obligations, under no circumstances will we use this information for any purpose other than to provide these services to you. We adhere to a strict no-spam policy. We will not sell or rent your e-mail address or any other personal information to a third party.

Occasions may arise in which it may be necessary for us to email you information that may affect your use of this website. However, this information will not consist of promotional material of any kind, either for this website or any of BookThink's advertisers. Please note, however, that newsletters posted here or sent by email may include editorial or advertising content with accompanying links. Our resources areas include links as well. Should you click a link that takes you to another website, please understand that you will then no longer be under the umbrella of this policy.

Now and again, BookThink may send a cookie to your computer - a small piece of data sent to your internet browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. A cookie can't read data on your hard disk or read cookie files created by other websites. Cookies do not damage your system. We use cookies for several purposes: to identify areas you have visited or customized on the website and make them readily accessible the next time you visit; and to adjust various operational settings, such as the time period you will remain logged in without any activity. Our advertisers may use cookies to determine how many times you've seen an advertisement. Both our advertisers and we may use this information to better personalize content, banners, and promotions that you see on our site. You can choose whether or not to accept cookies by changing the settings of your browser. You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to show you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose not to accept cookies, your experience on our website and others may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.

Finally, BookThink will not be held responsible for information you voluntarily disclose to others by email, in forums or by any other means associated with this website, directly or indirectly. Please use discretion. Information that can be accessed publicly can be used for purposes you may not approve of.

By using this website and/or subscribing to the newsletter, you are consenting to the collection and use of information by BookThink as specified above. Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page as soon as they become effective. Questions or concerns about this policy should be directed to the editor, Craig Stark, at editor@bookthink.com. Thank you!
