Today's installment of Bookselling in the 21st Century comes at last to the meat and potatoes: Specifically, what the heck do I need to start buying now to survive as a bookseller?

Since launching this series I've received a number of emails from booksellers who are feeling the combined effects of both this recession and the ongoing mass digitization of books (and other media) and are needing some ideas on how best to move forward with their businesses. The purpose of this series is to deliver exactly those ideas, at least some, and hopefully this will encourage a discussion that will reveal others.
