Later printings of the trade edition (i.e., ones with a price on the DJ) have sold for $30 to $75. Book club editions in Fine/Fine might sell for $10 to $20.

Children of Dune:

The Great Dune Trilogy:

London: Gollancz, 1979. Hardcover. Omnibus edition of books one through three. $25 to $50. There are several reprint editions in hardcover and paperback, published by Heinemann, Ace and Orion - these would be of lesser interest, with prices below $10.

The Second Great Dune Trilogy:

London: Gollancz, 1987. Hardcover. Omnibus edition of books four through six. $25 to $50.

The remaining books will not sell for more than $5 to $10. Consider grouping in lots to increase interest and minimize effort and expense in listing.

God Emperor of Dune, New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1981.
Heretics of Dune, New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1984.
Chapterhouse: Dune, New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1985.

Collectible Books Not by Frank Herbert

The Dune Encyclopedia by McNelly, Willis Everett; New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1984. Rare in the Putnam hardback trade edition, with asking prices starting at $250. There is a hardback book club edition from Berkley Books, which runs from $50 to $100. Also, a paperback edition from Berkley and one from Corgi, with prices in the $25 to $75 range.

Dune Master: A Frank Herbert Bibliography (Meckler's Bibliographies on Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror) by Daniel J. H. Levack, Mark Willard. ISBN 0887360998. Meckler Books, 1988. An uncommon book. $200+.

The Maker of Dune: Insights of a Master of Science Fiction (Paperback) by Frank Herbert, Tim O'Reilly. ISBN 0425097854. Berkley Pub Group, 1987. $10 to $25.

Chaos Theory, Asimov's Foundations and Robots, and Herbert's Dune: The Fractal Aesthetic of Epic Science Fiction (Hardcover) by Donald E. Palumbo. ISBN 0313311897. Greenwood Press, 2002. Lists at $96.95 at Amazon ("1 in Stock - order soon!)", with used copies ranging from $82 to $133.

NOTE: I am not including in this discussion the non-Frank Herbert Dune novels put out by his son Brian and Kevin Anderson, as they are relatively recent and were published in relatively large print runs. Hence, they have little resale value. As usual, if you happen onto complete sets at cheap prices, group them into lots.
